About us
Hello, I'm Andrew
I’m a passionate English teacher from Cornwall, in the South West of England. I created Tap Into English to make language learning fun, practical, and tailored to you. Over the past 10+ years, I’ve taught hundreds of students online and in classrooms, helping them overcome language barriers, build fluency, and express themselves naturally.
My Story
Why I started Tap Into English
I noticed something about traditional English lessons: they often focus on grammar and memorisation, not real-life communication. I wanted to create a learning experience where students actually use the language, remember vocabulary, and feel confident speaking.

Whether it’s chatting with friends, communicating at work, or joining discussions that matter, my mission is to make English learning enjoyable, effective, and empowering.

Lessons are communicative and focused on real-life English. Pre-class worksheets, videos, and exercises prepare you for engaging, structured conversation. You’ll gain fluency, expand vocabulary, and learn to speak like a native.
Learning doesn’t have to be stressful. We’ll make it stimulating and enjoyable.
My Qualifications
Background & Experience
Degree in Politics & Sociology
TEFL Qualification (Teaching English as a Foreign Language)
10+ years teaching English in classrooms and online
1000+ students taught from diverse backgrounds
Experienced in business English, conversation practice, and exam preparation
I’ve also learned languages myself (currently learning Italian!), so I understand the challenges of speaking a second language and the joy of breakthroughs when you finally get it right.

Beyond Teaching
I’m not just a teacher... I’m a human too!
When I’m not teaching, I love:

Running and road cycling
Salsa dancing (though I may need rehab for that!)
Watching movies and documentaries
Pub quizzes and spending time with friends
